travel guide: vancouver canada
i wanted to start with the beginning of our trip and explain why we went, all the things we did etc.....HOWEVER. I just couldn't wait. this was the one of the absolute coolest things we've ever done.
aaron found a suspension bridge through social media when we were researching things to do in Canada and told me about the Capilano Suspension Bridge. slightly confused I said ok...i was confused because aaron is completely afraid of heights! as we looked into it i was like WHAT?! for real dude?
we got there and it was honestly magical. it was perfect crispy weather throughout the whole day with minimal drizzle. we were like kids going to disneyland for the first time. the fog came down below the trees to make the perfect mystical backdrop. we just kept looking at each other in awe! seeing the beauty of nature in a different country was simple breathtaking.
throughout the park there are wooden bridges going through tree tops, a cliff wall (tiny one person bridge going along the edge of a cliff!) and the main attraction, the suspension bridge. we lucked out because there were not many people when we first arrived. the earlier you go the less crowded it is. we also lucked out since it was a little rainy so again there weren't many people. aaron's fear of heights barely even phased him. the cliff wall was the scariest part i think. there were little look out spots too! they were clear platforms, so basically you were walking on the tree tops. 200 ft above the ground.
the thrill of it all just excited us. it was so fun to be able to experience new things together. there are certain moments of this trip that i want to replay in my head over and over again. those moments when we synchronizing looked at each other in awe are priceless to me. no words, just pure amazement of experiencing a new part of the world.
