my skin care routine...
ok this is something that i've been wanting to write about for quite some time. i know every skin type is different but i just want to share my morning and nightly routine that i've been doing for quite some time now!
i've had my fair share of acne growing up and it made me so self conscious. i remember always having to mark the "touch up" box when ordering school pictures because my face was always full of oily acne! i have many stories about acne but i'll spare you and just share how i take care of my face now!
so, my routine is simple. i've tried everything from pro active to generic drug store face wash. however, what i have learned from all of this is that less is more! the only thing i've added recently was my estee lauder advanced night repair serum.
1. what i use every morning and night is my all time go-to, ivory soap. it is so simple but what helps me is that it is so pure. my face can't take all the "extra" stuff so i keep it simple! it can dry out your skin if you use it too much so i will mix up my routine with using this face wash.
2. once a week i use this apricot scrub from target. by using a scrub 1-2 times per week, you exfoliate your skin and clear it from dirt that can build up. i love scrubs because your face feels so soft afterwards!
3. nightly, i use this toner after i wash my face with the dove soap. this gets rid of any access make up that i didn't get from the soap. i just put some on a cotton round and wipe my face.
4. before i go to bed i always use a moisturizer. this utah air is killing my skin so i try to keep it as hydrated as i can. I use this moisturizer after i apply my advanced night repair serum. this not only moisturizes your skin but also gives it that natural glow that we want.
this is just my daily routine that i've been doing for a while. it works so well for my skin type! never have i ever thought i would one day be writing a blog post on skin care, but i'm so happy i have found something that works. occasionally i'll treat myself to a face mask! i haven't found a favorite but i'd love to hear what things you use on your pretty faces!
