Hi.

welcome to my blog! i document adventures in travel, and style. hope you have a nice stay!

no hablo brazilian

no hablo brazilian

so basically when i go see my cousins and i bring food, they're game. together they helped me make pao de queijo, (don't ask me how to pronounce that!) or in other terms brazilian cheese rolls! on my way over i called my cousin alex and told him what we would be doing. with as much enthusiasm as a 12 year old could possibly have he explained that his mom just bought really good cookies with a brazilian name but he couldn't remember. we later come to realize that those "brazilian" cookies were just called "bahama mamas" haha. he tried ;)

anything easy to make is good in my book, when it comes to cooking i'm the worst! these cheese rolls were SO easy! we literally opened up the package of frozen pao de queijo, put 'em on the tray and baked them for 5 minutes. by the time everyone got home we got to all try the goodness. we actually tried them with this yummy sweetened milk that had a caramely taste to it. cheese rolls and sweet caramel sauce? it was way good! on my mission we ate cheese and jelly on baguettes all the time and it was to die for. they are also gluten free, my aunt and i joked that if you were really craving bread this would definitely satisfy that desire!

i love spending time with my extended family here. they live so close yet our lives get so hectic that we rarely get to see each other! so it was so great just being with them and spending that time reminiscing on past trips or laughing at things that have been happening in our lives. they also have a bird named Kevin...he's from south america somewhere haha. my cousin had this brilliant idea to put him in my blog and he was quite the model as you can see!

i would like to share with my readers this coupon to get pao de queijo at your local grocery store www.fornodeminas.com/coupon
