the kat milked the cow

date nights have always been aaron's specialty. after a few minutes of ideas bouncing back and forth between the two of us last friday, aaron abruptly tells me that he's got an idea and he'll take care of it....now i'm the kind of person that has to know exactly what we are doing so I can know what to wear, what to bring etc. it was killing me! he told me to wear what i'm wearing, grab the camera and be ready by 4:15. soon enough we arrived at the cutest full functioning farm in salt lake city, wheeler historic farm. sometimes we see so many old historic places that it was hard to believe this farm is an actual working farm. the reason why we had to leave at 4:15 was so we could get there by 5 to MILK A COW. yep. each day at 5 o'clock for $1 you can participate in cow milking! it's a whole family affair as the little barn was full of anxious children. the farmer gives a brief introduction to cow milking and how to do it then one by one we go up to good ol bessie to milk her! usually it takes 10-15 minutes for the farmer to milk a cow but by going through one by one it took about an hour. there was so much to see and explore throughout the farm. since we missed the last wagon ride of the day we kind of just strolled around...we even found our future house! ;) definitely a place worth visiting if you're in the area and the best part...admission is free!
